Champagne
used to be a red wine region…
e
Venoge, always at the forefront of the finest and noblest traditions,
decided to remember to anyone that Champagne region used to be a red wine
region producing a Côteaux Champenois : the Louis XIV favourite
wine.
• The place: a sunny area in the villages “Les Riceys”
in the locality called “La forêt”.
• The particularity: 40 years old vineyards, specially selected
for the red wine production
• The method: permanent cares, green harvest to reduce the production,
harvest hand made, bunch selection to collect the best grapes, berry
selection, long maturing, ageing in oak barrels
• The result: A wine which compete against the best! 100% Pinot
noir, this exceptional northern red wine is a perfect match with meat
dishes thanks to its presence and complexity
Unfortunately, quality can’t stand with quantity, that’s
why in 2001, only 6000 bottles have been produced… Could you let
pass such a wine!?
Cuvée
20 ans: the EXTRA-BRUT excellence
ounded
in 1837, de Venoge keeps in its hundred years old cellars « treasures
» of old vintage champagnes very estimated. Thanks to their slow
maturing, those old vintages develop such a complex bouquet that so few
lovers had the occasion to taste it.
Since September 2003, de Venoge will propose to all the wine lovers
an outstanding champagne 20 years old vintage, which fruit and balance
keep a superlative freshness with so fine bubbles.
De Venoge decided to propose it « extra-brut » which means
without adding sugar, to underline its subtlety and its acidity rounded
by the old maturing.
Drunk as a sophisticated aperitif or a perfect match for subtle meals,
the cuvée 20 ans de Venoge should be served between 8°C and
10°C.
